Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Las Vegas NV
1202 AM PST Mon Dec 15 2025
.KEY MESSAGES...
* Mild conditions will continue across the region through the
upcoming week.
* A disturbance will bring a 15-30% chance for precipitation to
portions of Inyo and Esmeralda counties late week.
&&
.DISCUSSION...through next weekend.
A stagnant and dry pattern continues with broad ridging across
much of the southwestern US through the week. This will keep dry
and mild weather locked in, with daily temperature inversions
persisting in some of the lower valleys. The flow pattern aloft
will begin to deamplify by the weekend as the storm track sags
into Northern California. This will allow for increasing chances
for light precipitation by the end of the week and into next
weekend, but limited to the Sierra and Esmeralda County regions.
Elsewhere, dry and mild conditions will continue though a notable
increase in high clouds can be expected.
&&
.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Light
and diurnal winds expected through the TAF period, with speeds
generally below 8 kts. Cloud cover will continue to decrease through
the evening, with clear skies expected Monday morning.
For the rest of southern Nevada, northwestern Arizona and
southeastern California...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Light and
diurnal winds expected through the TAF period, with speeds generally
below 8 kts. The exception will be along the Colorado River Valley,
where breezy north winds are expected at KEED and gusty north winds
with gust speeds between 25 and 30 kts expected at KIFP Monday
afternoon. Cloud cover will continue to gradually decrease through
the evening.
&&
